If you thought your weekend was bad, ask Alabama Head Coach Anthony Grant how his went. Just a week after suspending his high-flying forward Tony Mitchell for conduct detrimental to the team, Grant yanked three more players out of his lineup at LSU last Saturday for making “poor decisions”. Leading scorer JaMychal Green, sophomore point guard Trevor Releford and junior guard Andrew Steele all joined Mitchell in Tuscaloosa to watch the Tide’s 67-58 loss in Baton Rouge on television. For Steele and Releford, their suspensions didn’t last long.
In the spirit of Valentine’s Day, Grant lifted the suspensions of Trevor Releford and Andrew Steele and they will be available to play tomorrow night against the Florida Gators. Good timing for Alabama, considering the Gators are coming off an embarrassing loss at home to Tennessee. Billy Donovan and his sick widow’s peak will look to take out their frustration on a team headed nowhere fast. Releford and Steele should help some but don’t expect any upsets at Coleman Coliseum tomorrow night.
Tip is at 6 p.m. central and will be televised by ESPN.
