The famous oak trees in Auburn at Toomer’s Corner are undergoing another round of pruning today after being poisoned almost 21 months ago by Harvey Updyke.
There have been mixed reports about the the prospects of the trees surviving the lethal dose of Spike 80 allegedly released by Updyke, but Auburn officials are doing everything they can to salvage the historic landmark. (Loser has admitted to poisoning the trees twice, 1st admission and 2nd admission)
Updyke’s original trial was slated to begin in June of 2011 but after a series of delays, his next court appearance might not take place until October.
“I buy meat everyday almost, that’s why I’m fixing to go in here and buy me some meat!”
This creepy guy, shown without his freezer friend, was interviewed about the rising cost of meat outside a Birmingham area Target by CBS42, and he said he’s worried about the prices because his “freezer is, like, dead” and “it wants some meat”.
Where do they find these people? News crews in the field are notorious for finding the village idiot to interview, and well, they have struck again.
Props to CBS42 for giving me a chuckle this afternoon.
“If I want a Chick-Fil-A sandwich, I’m going to have a Chick-Fil-A sandwich. So you can run and tell that!”
Antoine Dodson, famous for his local news interview about a home intruder, made it clear that he doesn’t care about the opinion of Chick-fil-A owners on homosexuals and marriage. Dodson is openly gay.
He gets really excited when asked about the waffle fries.
“Now you know them waffle fries are banging! Especially if they hot!”
“It look like you stole a midget’s pants!”
“I know your nuts hurt!”
These were just a couple of the comments made by a father irate over his son wearing a pair of skinny jeans. As punishment, daddy resorts to a camera and YouTube to give his son a different perspective as to how his jeans look.
Check it out.
Reuben Foster, a 6-foot-2, 246 pound inside linebacker, allowed a camera from Primetime Gridiron Live to follow him around for a day, and Foster talked candidly about his decision to leave Troup High School, Mark Richt and the Georgia Bulldogs and what to expect from him on signing day. The current University of Alabama commitment transferred to Auburn High recently from Troup in LaGrange, Ga.
The best part starts around the 5:30 mark when Foster shoots skeet over a pond in Auburn, Ala. That clip is followed by a shot of the heralded recruit meeting a former Auburn football coach and present Tigers Unlimited fundraiser Joe Whitt. Coincidence or planned maneuver from Gene Chizik and his staff?
Foster said “When it comes down to signing day, you’re going to see an ‘RT’.” He was asked to clarify what that meant, in which he answered, “Roll Tide!”.
We shall see.
